The Journal of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (JGAR) aims to be at the forefront of abdominal imaging, affirming classic and proven diagnostic pathways while disrupting and dismantling misconceptions that have stood undisputed for decades. The process of editorial recruitment and duties, review, and ethical conformity is currently being established from white paper guidelines issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the WHO.

JGAR is the official journal of the Indian Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology.

Through a variety of sections and categories, the journal will embrace a wide range of manuscript styles: original articles, case reports, review articles, meta-analyses, pictorial essays, technical hints, disease specific reporting templates, quizzes, radioanatomy/radiopathology correlation, learning-from-error, healthcare ethics, history, podcasts, debate and dialogue sound tracks. Manuscripts will be reviewed by three blinded reviewers, whose recommendation regarding publication will be finalized by an Editorial Board composed of the brightest and best minds in abdominal imaging across the world. The Editorial Board will offer suggestions for pre-publication manuscripts to achieve scientific excellence rooted in robust epidemiological principles. Pre-publication articles will also be enhanced by skillful and aesthetically pleasing artwork for diagrammatic depictions of complex images.
