Brian D. Scanlan
President - International Division
Brian D. Scanlan is responsible for the development of the international business segments of Thieme. Brian worked with Springer in New York / Heidelberg and Elsevier in New York / London before he joined Thieme in 1995. As the Publishing Director of the Thieme subsidiary Thieme Publishers, he expanded the English-language program at the New York and Stuttgart locations and established additional locations in Delhi and Rio de Janeiro over the past decade. Since 1 April 2016, he is a member of the Thieme Management Board.
Daniel Schiff, MD, PhD
Senior Vice President
Responsible for journal publishing and new business development. He has worked in STM publishing for over 25 years, has personally managed over 300 journals throughout his career, and overseen the acquisition of a dozen publishing houses. A neuroscientist by education, one of Daniel's key strengths is his ability to manage the rapid transformation of ideas into products. His interests are in developing reference perennial economic models for the changing market place in STM publishing, and in supporting sturdy metrics to measure the positioning and growth of knowledge dissemination tools.
Senior Vice President, Institutional Sales
Responsible for global Institutional Sales within the Thieme Publishing Group. Bernd has worked in STM publishing for over 20 years.He has been with Thieme since 2001 and from the beginning his role has been to strategize sales and build markets for new products that are launched by the Thieme group. Bernd focuses on sales processes and imparts training to the sales team. He is responsible for the sales team integration in India and the USA.
Sales Director, Institutional Sales Academic & Corporate
Responsible for the sales of the entire e-product portfolio to institutions in the EMEA, APAC markets. Maja has been with Thieme since 2006 and throughout this period has worked in Institutional Sales, first as a Sales Assistant, and later on as Sales Manager APAC, and Sales Manager DACH. Prior to joining Thieme, Maja did online marketing at Wiley-VCH, after graduating from Leipzig University.
Fiona Henderson, PhD
International Marketing Director
Responsible for the marketing of all English-language books, journals and electronic products at Thieme. Fiona has been with Thieme since 2007 and throughout this period has worked extensively on the marketing and sales of the journals program. Prior to joining Thieme, Fiona did software marketing after her work as a postdoctoral researcher and a teaching fellow at the University of London and the University of California.
